The Plight of the Diamond

A diamond once wondered
What he may someday become

‘Simply a diamond, my dear child,
always blind and always dumb.’

Now, the diamond didn’t like this one bit
So, one day, while in transit,
Sitting inside a simple basket,
He threw himself out into the street.

That foolish diamond was never seen again.
